I've never worked out before. Is personal training right for me?

Absolutely! Many people are under the false impression that they somehow need to first get in shape just to start working with a trainer. The truth is, we're here to help you no matter what shape you're in. No client is too inexperienced or too advanced. The sign of a good coach is someone who is able to help trainees of all fitness levels.

Do you also help with diet and nutrition?

Yes, to a certain extent. A trainer can help advise clients on diet and can certainly assist in developing better nutritional habits, but we do not provide meal plans or make any type of prescription in terms of specific foods. That is more within the scope of a registered dietitian. That being said, you can expect to be held accountable for how you should be eating based on your goals.

I found a free training program online/in a magazine. Won't that be just as effective as working with you?

These days there's a ton of free fitness and strength training information available to everyone, and there certainly are some good workout templates out there. The difference, however, can be quite vast between following a cookie cutter program and working with a qualified trainer.

For one, a good trainer wants to ensure a safe workout that progressively challenges the client. This means keeping track of all the variables and applying the appropriate "dose" of training week after week. We don't want to overload a trainee with more than they are ready for, nor do we want to underload and see minimal results. Beyond that, a coach can also provide immediate feedback and modifications in order to make sure you're getting the best out of a particular exercise or protocol.

Lastly, signing up to work with a trainer adds an extra layer of accountability and motivation to your routine. The right trainer will know exactly what to say during a workout to make sure you're giving it 100% effort, even when you don't feel like it.

With all those factors considered, you can see why working with a trainer can lead to much more effective, efficient, and well planned workouts.

How many days per week are your programs?

Everything about our programs is custom to the individual, and that includes training frequency. This may be determined by work schedule, budget, or other factors. Regardless of why, we always work with our clients to find the ideal workout schedule. For most, that ends up being 2-3 sessions a week of personal training paired with another 1-3 days a week of homework which can include cardio, stretching, sports activities, or strength training. The key is finding a schedule that you can stick to over time.

How much does personal training cost?

Pricing starts at $140 for a single session, but packages of multiple sessions are available at a discounted rate. Contact us to learn more about rates and pricing options.
